Connecting Families to Support
At the Coös Coalition, we believe that supporting families is a community effort. It truly takes a village to ensure that every child and caregiver receives the help and resources they need to thrive. Whether you are a family member, friend, neighbor, or service provider, you play a crucial role in connecting individuals to the support systems available in our community.

Why Referrals Matter:
  • Early Intervention: Identifying and addressing challenges early can significantly improve outcomes for children and families.
  • Community Strength: By helping others, we strengthen the fabric of our community, creating a more supportive and resilient environment for everyone.
  • Shared Responsibility: We all have a role in supporting the well-being of our community members. Your referral can make a significant difference in someone’s life.

How You Can Help:

  • Refer a Family or Individual: Do you know a family or individual who could benefit from our services? Make a referral today. Your connection could be the first step toward getting them the help they need.
  • Spread the Word: Share information about our programs and services with your network. Let others know that support is available and how they can access it.
  • Engage with Your Community: Attend community events, participate in local groups, and stay informed about the resources available. The more connected we are, the more effectively we can support each other.
  • Become an Advocate: Advocate for the needs of families and children in our community. Your voice can help raise awareness and drive positive change.

How to Make a Referral:
  • Online Referral Form: Fill out our simple online referral form (below) with basic information about the person or family you are referring. We will follow up to offer support and services tailored to their needs.

Together, We Can Make a Difference

By working together, we can ensure that all families in the North Country have access to the support and resources they need. Your involvement and referrals are vital in helping us create a strong, connected, and supportive community. Thank you for being a part of this important effort.

Let’s continue to lift each other up—because it truly takes a village.

Early supports and services

Early detection of developmental delays in children ages 0-5 is crucial, and Early Supports and Services (ESS) is here to help. ESS specializes in identifying and addressing these delays early, offering tailored interventions that significantly improve children's developmental trajectories. Early intervention not only enhances a child's ability to learn and interact but also sets them up for long-term success in life. If you have concerns about your child's development, connecting with ESS can be a pivotal step, providing your child with the support they need to thrive from the start. Our Resource Navigators can help you with that or you can connect with them directly.

Head start

Head Start is more than just a preschool program—it's a comprehensive foundation for children aged 3-5, designed to promote their academic, social, and emotional development. By focusing on early learning, health, and family well-being, Head Start ensures children are prepared for kindergarten and beyond. Participation in Head Start leads to improved literacy and math skills, better social competencies, and an enhanced ability to manage emotions. For young learners approaching their critical early years of education, Head Start offers a unique opportunity to begin their educational journey on solid ground, fostering a love for learning that lasts a lifetime. Our Resource Navigators can help you apply for Head Start and / or look into other childcare options. To connect directly with Head Start, click here.

This service addresses the unique challenges faced by kin caregivers, ensuring they have the tools and resources to provide loving, stable homes for the children in their care. Kinship Navigation is more than just a program; it's a lifeline for families, reinforcing the community's commitment to the well-being of every generation.

early emotional & developmental support (0-8)

Northern’s IMH program offers a unique and crucial service for families with children aged 0-8 emphasizing emotional, physical, social, and cognitive well-being without the prerequisite of a medical diagnosis. It is tailored to meet the needs of families, enabling children facing emotional or developmental challenges to receive the support and skills they need to thrive. Through IMH, the North Country is ensuring that all families have access to the foundational support necessary for their children's success from the earliest stages of life. Our Resource Navigator can help you through the intake process and / or you can connect with them directly here.
