We're on a mission to ensure that every child in Coös County has a healthy start and every family has the support they need. Over the next three years, we’re launching innovative strategies to create more childcare spaces, promote emotional and behavioral well-being, and build resilient families. From tactical teams tackling childcare and behavioral health needs to replicating successful programs like Raising Strong Families, this plan is designed to make a real impact. Solving the Childcare Crisis in the North Country (January 2024)
The "Solving the Childcare Crisis in the North Country Report" addresses the pressing need for increased childcare availability and accessibility in Coös County and Upper Grafton County, where recent closures of childcare centers have significantly impacted local families and workforce participation. Through a collaborative effort led by the Coös Coalition for Young Children and Families and the Coös County Director Network, and supported by the Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund and NH Charitable Foundation, the report aims to develop local solutions to expand childcare spaces. Highlighting the importance of quality childcare for the development of young children and support for working families, it examines current childcare options, identifies challenges in meeting demand, and underscores innovative strategies for sustainability.
